A beach club in Bali is, by definition, a bar by the sea with a pool and sunbeds, and most let you walk in free and charge for the good seats. The cheapest seat costs about Rp200,000 to Rp800,000 per person and a daybed for two about Rp1 million to Rp3 million. Most add 21% tax and service. Swimwear is fine by day, but bring a cover up and a physical ID to get in.
We take no payment, free visits or affiliate fees from any beach club in this guide. Every price and rule comes from the club’s own website, booking page or terms unless we say otherwise, checked in October 2026.

What is a beach club in Bali?
A beach club in Bali is a bar and restaurant on the coast with a pool and sunbeds, usually with a DJ playing music inside, where you can spend the whole day and stay for sunset. Most are free to walk into. What costs money is where you’ll be lounging all day, and the better the view, the more it costs.
Some are on the sand. Others sit on a cliff or a balcony above it, with a lift or a lot of stairs down to the water. Honeycombers leaves the cliff ones out of its list and calls them pool clubs. But we think they’re the same thing lol! When I’m looking for a beach club, I count these too.
The day is quiet until lunch and peaks at sunset, by which time the good seats are long gone. The food is built for people coming straight off the sand. James Ephraim, who co-owns Luna Beach Club, told MB Times that a degustation menu at Mozaic, a smaller beach club he opened about a decade before Luna, “just didn’t click”. Expect burgers, seafood and sharing plates, and save the tasting menu for another night, maybe a date night from our fine dining guide.
What to wear to a beach club in Bali: swimwear by day, a cover up for the restaurant
Swimwear, bikinis included, is fine at a Bali beach club during the day, as long as you are by the pool or on the sand. The rules start at the restaurant, and after dark.
FINNS writes its dress code down. Swimwear is permitted, but in the dining areas men need at least shorts and women at least a bikini top with a sarong or pareo (FINNS). It turns away matching outfits on groups of men, and anything with AFL, Gojek or Bintang on it, so the Bintang singlet stays at the villa. It also refuses anyone with a tattoo on the face or head, with no exceptions.
El Kabron allows beachwear by its pool, but its restaurant and Sunset Theater want smart casual and a shirt on every man (El Kabron). It bans drink logo t-shirts, athletic wear, costumes and, for reasons we can only guess at, wedding dresses. KU DE TA is relaxed until 6pm, then asks for smart casual with no singlets or board shorts. Meanwhile Potato Head says it has no dress code at all.
Pack swimwear and something to throw over it. Bring a physical ID too, because some beach clubs, like FINNS, check an original passport, ID card or driving licence at the door and will not accept a photo on your phone. Leave your own towel at home. FINNS does not allow them and will hold yours at security. Its daybeds come with towels, and walk ins can rent one (FINNS).
Beach club etiquette in Bali
Beach club etiquette in Bali starts with remembering whose beach it is. The club owns the land behind the sand, not the sand.
Every beach in Bali is public, so you can walk along the shore in front of any club for free. In November 2025, Governor Wayan Koster sent the provincial parliament a draft regulation protecting beaches, saying some businesses act “as if they own the beach and the sea” (Euronews). That regulation, Perda Bali No. 3 of 2026, is now being enforced, ANTARA Bali reports.
These beaches also belong to villages, and ceremonies happen on them. In October 2024, Bali’s public order agency summoned FINNS after its fireworks went off during a religious ceremony on Berawa Beach, and said the customary village had already told the club it did not agree to daily fireworks (detikBali). If a ceremony is happening on the sand, give it room and keep your phone in your pocket. On Nyepi, the Balinese day of silence, the whole island stops, beach clubs included.
When you leave, cover up. The governor’s rules for foreign tourists, first issued in 2023 and updated in 2025, ask visitors to dress appropriately in public places. A bikini by the pool is fine. On the walk to the warung next door, put something on.
Inside, the house rules barely change from club to club. Outside food and drink are banned at FINNS, KU DE TA and El Kabron, and El Kabron says that includes birthday cakes. Drones and big cameras need permission or stay at reception. Alcohol is served from 21, the legal drinking age in Indonesia. The bill already carries a service charge, so a tip is your choice, not a must. If you still want to thank someone, give them cash rather than adding it to the bill.
Book your ride home before sunset. Grab and Gojek can drop you at El Kabron but cannot collect you, and the club tells you to take a local taxi, which it can arrange. Canggu’s customary villages set their own rules against ride hailing years ago, according to a 2020 study published by Udayana University, and drivers there still refuse some pickups, the South China Morning Post reported in May.
Which beach clubs in Bali allow kids?
Plenty of beach clubs in Bali allow kids, but the two most famous in Canggu do not. FINNS has been strictly 16 and over since 1 May 2025 and turns away under 16s even with their parents. Its Google listing still calls it a family day out, so do not go by that. Atlas describes itself as 16 and over on its own site, although it opened in 2022 with a kids’ pool. El Kabron lets children into its restaurant only and keeps its pool for the over 18s (El Kabron).
The clubs that welcome families are Potato Head, which has a kids’ play area and lets you bring the dog, and Sundays, where children aged 5 to 11 pay half and the under 5s go free. KU DE TA calls itself family friendly, and La Brisa welcomes kids, according to Honeycombers.
If you are searching for a beach club ramah anak, that is your list. Ask before you book anywhere else, because several clubs allow children downstairs or in a small pool and keep the main pool for adults.

How much is a beach club in Bali?
Walking into most beach clubs in Bali is free, unless they’re overly crowded and close to sunset time. A seat by the pool or on the beach starts at about Rp200,000 to Rp800,000 per person at the clubs that publish their prices, and a daybed for two runs about Rp1 million to Rp3 million.
The confusing part is that clubs charge for seats in three ways, and most guides call all of them minimum spend.
With a true minimum spend, the seat is free but you agree to spend a set amount on food and drink, and that money comes back as credit. KU DE TA’s daybeds work like this. So does Potato Head at sunset, with a Rp200,000 cover from 4pm to 6:30pm that is redeemable for selected drinks.
An entry fee that partly comes back is the Uluwatu model. A day pass at Sundays costs Rp800,000, and Rp500,000 of it is food and drink credit (Sundays). The rest pays for the lift down the cliff, a beanbag, a towel and the watersports gear. Klive does the same at every seat except its Sunset Point pool deck, which gives no credit at all (Klive).
A booking fee for the bed is the FINNS model. FINNS says it has no minimum spend, and that only its “arrive before 1pm” and “arrive anytime” packages give part of the bed fee back as credit (FINNS). Credit you have not spent by closing is gone.
So before you pay anywhere, ask how much comes back as food and drink, and whether tax goes on top. It usually does. Most clubs print 10% service and 10% government tax, which comes to 21%, the same ++ you see on restaurant menus. A Rp1,000,000 minimum spend is Rp1,210,000 on your card. KU DE TA and Café del Mar in Berawa charge a little less, at 18.8%.

If you are searching for a beach club gratis or murah, the free options are real. FINNS and Potato Head both say entry is free, and Klive’s restaurant deck costs nothing, though it has no pool. One Google reviewer on Melasti Beach paid Rp100,000 for a sunbed on the public beach, next to clubs asking millions. What a beach club sells you is everything around the sand: shade, a pool, a towel, a clean toilet and a good seat at sunset. Whether that is worth Rp1 million is your call!
How to book a beach club in Bali: walk in or book online by day, book for sunset
You can walk into most Bali beach clubs during the day without booking. For a daybed at sunset, on a weekend or in high season, book ahead, and book on the club’s own site. FINNS says it gives no discount codes to third parties and does not allow resale of beds. Sundays goes the other way, selling day passes at the door only, first come first served from 7:30am.
Read the refund terms before you pay, because most beach club bookings are not refundable. El Kabron says all reservations are non-refundable. KU DE TA lets you reschedule at least 48 hours ahead. FINNS refunds nothing while the venue is open, bad weather included, and charges Rp500,000 to change the date, or Rp1,000,000 inside 48 hours (FINNS). If the forecast looks wet, I’d suggest booking late rather than early.
Arrive early if you want sun. At Sundays the sun drops behind the cliff at around 4:30pm to 5pm, its own FAQ says, well before sunset. At FINNS, arriving before 1pm can save you up to 50% on a bed.
Best beach clubs in Canggu
Canggu has the two most searched beach clubs in Bali, side by side on Jalan Pantai Berawa, and the sunset crowd at Echo Beach. Luna is a short drive west, in Tabanan, but most people go from Canggu, so it sits here.
FINNS Beach Club, Canggu: the big one, now 16 and over
FINNS takes four of the top five Google searches connected to beach clubs in Bali, and in 2021 it said it drew more than a million guests a year. Entry is free. Since May 2025 it has been 16 and over, with physical ID checked at the door, and its written dress code is the most detailed in Canggu.
FINNS does not do minimum spend. A daybed comes with a booking fee, and only some packages give part of it back as credit. If you want your money to come back as food and drink, choose an “arrive before 1pm” or “arrive anytime” package.
Get: Walk in for the bar and the beach. For a bed, the “arrive before 1pm” package. Price: Free entry. Bed fees appear only when you book, so check what comes back as credit before you pay. Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa No. 99, Tibubeneng, Canggu Book: bookings.finnsbeachclub.com, and only there. No refunds while the venue is open. Date changes cost Rp500,000, or Rp1,000,000 inside 48 hours. Daily, 11am to midnight.
Atlas Beach Club, Canggu: party scale, from Holywings
Atlas belongs to Holywings Group, and it was built to be big. Hotman Paris, the celebrity lawyer who bought into Holywings in 2021, announced its opening in July 2022 with room for 10,000 people (Media Asuransi). It has since added a padel court and a 100 metre flying fox.
The seat names tell you what kind of day you are booking. Deck Side daybeds are for staying dry and Pool Side is by the water, while Party Side puts you next to the stage (Atlas). Prices sit behind the booking page, so message first.
Get: Pool Side if you want to swim, Deck Side if you do not. Price: Not published. Ask when you book. Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa No. 88, Tibubeneng, Canggu Book: atlasbeachfest.com or WhatsApp +62 811 1908 2168.
La Brisa, Canggu: sunset at Echo Beach
La Brisa is where Canggu goes to watch the sun go down. Entry is free and most seats carry a minimum spend, but its own site would not let us read the prices. Reviewers give you an idea. One couple put down Rp1 million for a sofa for two, which came back as food credit, and a family with a 4 year old had a Rp3 million minimum. One reviewer found that excessive for a view you can get elsewhere, and another, paying the same, said the food made it worth it.
Get: A sofa for two at sunset, booked ahead. Price: Not published where we could read it. Reviewers paid Rp1 million for a sofa for two and Rp3 million for a daybed. Ask when you book. Address: Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan, Echo Beach, Canggu Book: +62 811-3946-666, the number on its Google listing. Daily, 10am to 11pm.
Luna Beach Club, Tabanan: inside Nuanu, with fire shows at dusk
Luna opened in March 2024 inside Nuanu, a 44 hectare development in Beraban, and James Ephraim, a chef by training, is one of its co-owners. The beach club runs from 10am to 10pm, with light and fire shows from 6:30pm and a cave club inside called Utopia (Luna). Utopia is adults only, according to MySunbed. Honeycombers says the club is free but Nuanu charges Rp50,000 per adult at its gate, with under 12s free.
Get: A general admission or daybed package, both sold online. Price: Not readable on its booking page. Ask when you book, and budget for the Nuanu gate fee. Address: Nuanu, Jl. Kayangan, Beraban, Tabanan Book: bookings.lunabeachclubbali.com or WhatsApp +62 819-3600-5511.
Where to party in Canggu at night: Atlas Super Club, Vault and The Mesa
Canggu’s nightlife is mostly on or just off Jalan Pantai Berawa, and when the beach clubs wind down, people move to three places.
Atlas Super Club is the nightclub half of Atlas, open from 10pm to 4am. Men pay Rp250,000 at the door with the first drink included, and women get in free before midnight. Its page says “before 12 PM”, which we read as midnight since it opens at 10pm (Atlas). Vault is underground, below the Tamora complex, plays house and hip hop, and holds 1,200 people, one of its owners told The Beat Bali. A reviewer says the door is 21 and over with no slippers, so bring closed shoes. The Mesa runs three floors from 8pm to 5am.
Best beach clubs in Seminyak
Seminyak is the easiest area for a beach club day with children. All three clubs below sit on the same stretch of coast, between Petitenget and Batu Belig.
Potato Head Beach Club, Seminyak: free seats, no dress code, kids and dogs welcome
Potato Head is the easiest beach club in Bali to just turn up to. Entry is free and there is no dress code. There is also plenty of seating without a minimum spend, except from 4pm to 6:30pm, when a Rp200,000 cover applies, redeemable for selected drinks. Children have their own play area, and pets are welcome.
The ++ is spelled out as 10% service and 10% tax. Cocktails are Rp140,000 to Rp175,000 on the menu, so Rp169,400 to Rp211,750 when you pay. Potato Head’s own advice is to arrive a few hours before sunset, because golden hour fills up.
Get: A free seat before 4pm, or a daybed on the grass for sunset. Price: Free entry. Rp200,000 cover from 4pm to 6:30pm, redeemable for selected drinks. Daybed prices shown when you book. Address: Jl. Petitenget No. 51B, Seminyak Book: Walk in, or book a daybed at bali-bc-rsv.potatohead.co. Sunday to Thursday 10am to midnight, Friday and Saturday until 2am.
KU DE TA, Seminyak: the original, since 2000
KU DE TA says it has been here since 2000. It is relaxed by day and dresses up at 6pm, when smart casual is required and singlets and board shorts are out. Its terms were the clearest we read. Daybeds carry a minimum spend that comes back as food and drink credit, payments can be rescheduled but not refunded, and the bill adds 8% service and 10% tax (KU DE TA).
Get: A daybed in the afternoon, then stay for dinner in something smarter. Price: Daybed minimum spends are not published. Ask when you book. Address: Jl. Kayu Aya No. 9, Seminyak Book: Daybeds through Megatix, or WhatsApp +62 361 736969. Reschedule at least 48 hours ahead. Daily from 8am.
Mari Beach Club, Seminyak: a sunset seat from Rp250,000
Mari prints its seat prices, which few clubs do. A seat at the bar starts from Rp250,000 for one person, a place on the Sunset Stairs from Rp350,000, and a sunset daybed for two from Rp1,550,000 (Mari). Those are its lowest rates, and they apply only from 11am to 3:30pm. The page does not say whether the money comes back as credit or whether tax goes on top, so ask both.
Get: A Sunset Stairs seat in the 11am to 3:30pm slot. Price: From Rp250,000 for a bar seat, Rp350,000 on the Sunset Stairs and Rp1,550,000 for a sunset daybed for two. Ask about credit and tax. Address: Jl. Batu Belig No. 66, Kerobokan Kelod Book: maribeachclub.com or WhatsApp +62 819 5916 6645. Daily, 12pm to 10pm.
Best beach club near Bali airport
Azure Beach Club, near the airport: a pool before your flight
Searches for Azure have risen 50% recently, and its reviews explain why. Several describe it as where they spent their last afternoon before a flight, with showers and no minimum spend, about 15 minutes from the terminal. If you have a night flight and have already checked out, this is the answer most guides miss.
Get: A sunbed and a shower before you fly. Price: Free entry, according to a bali.com listing, and no minimum spend, according to reviewers. Ask when you book. Address: Kelan Beach, Jl. Segara Madu, Tuban Book: +62 812-3981-2549. Daily, 11am to 10pm.
Best beach clubs in Uluwatu
Uluwatu’s clubs sit on the Bukit, the limestone peninsula at the southern tip of Bali, and most are on cliffs, so check whether you are booking sand or a pool. Savaya, the cliff club in Pecatu, sells event tickets rather than beach days, so check its calendar instead. Plan how you will get home before you go.
Sundays Beach Club, Uluwatu: a real beach, down a cliff lift
Sundays has no pool. It has the beach, in a cove at the bottom of the cliff, reached by an inclinator, a small cliff railway, or 270 steps. The day pass covers the ride down, a beanbag and umbrella, a towel, sunscreen and the watersports gear when the tide allows (Sundays). Lifeguards are on all day, and the bonfires start at 6:30pm. Unlike El Kabron, Sundays wants children.
Get: The Daily Beach Pass, in the morning, before the sun goes behind the cliff. Price: Adults Rp800,000, with Rp500,000 back as food and drink credit. Children 5 to 11 Rp400,000, with Rp250,000 credit. Under 5 free. The site does not say whether tax is included. Address: The Ungasan Clifftop Resort, Jl. Pantai Selatan Gau, Ungasan Book: Walk in from 7:30am, first come first served. VIP seats through sundaysbeachclub.com. Open until 10pm.
El Kabron, Uluwatu: a cliff club with the strictest rules
El Kabron has been on its cliff since 2011, and it is one of the fastest rising beach club searches in Bali right now. It calls itself adult oriented and means it. Children are allowed in the restaurant only and the pool is for over 18s. The minimum spend applies to anyone over 5, nannies and bodyguards included. Read its rules before you go, because they are the strictest in this guide, and arrange your ride home, because Grab and Gojek cannot collect you there.
Get: A Sunset Theater or Hedonism Lounge seat, booked ahead. Price: Its price list loads only in a browser and says prices are subject to 10% service and 10% tax. Reviewers paid a Rp850,000 per person minimum at a sunset table. Ask when you book. Address: Jl. Pantai Cemongkak, Pecatu Book: elkabron.com or WhatsApp +62 813-3723-5750. All bookings are non-refundable. Daily, 11am to midnight.
Klive Beach Club, Uluwatu: the cheapest pool on the Bukit
Klive is new, and searches for it rose 80% in our latest data. It has a lift down to the beach and clear kayaks, and what makes it useful is that it prints every price on its own site. The restaurant deck is free but has no pool. The cheapest way to swim is the Sunset Point deck, with no minimum spend and no credit. Above that, every seat gives some money back.
Get: Sunset Point for the pool, or a beanbag for two if you plan to eat. Price: Sunset Point Rp250,000++ per person, Rp302,500 paid. Beanbag for two Rp600,000++ (Rp726,000) with Rp300,000 credit. Single daybed Rp800,000++ (Rp968,000) with Rp400,000 credit. Address: Jl. Villa Kandara, Ungasan Book: reserveyourvenue.com/klivebeachclub
If you only read one thing
Most beach clubs in Bali are free to walk into, and you pay for the seat. Book a daybed on the club’s own site and ask how much comes back as food and drink credit. Then add 21% for tax and service. Wear swimwear by the pool and a cover up everywhere else, and bring a physical ID. Check the age rules before you bring children, because FINNS and Atlas are 16 and over. Leave your towel and snacks at home. Give any ceremony on the beach room, and book your ride home before sunset.
